The Union Cabinet has approved financial assistance to the revised Electronics Manufacturing Clusters Scheme for development of world-class infrastructure with shared facilities through electronic manufacturing clusters. Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the government has also approved production incentive scheme for electronics manufacturing on a large scale. The scheme aims to encourage domestic manufacturing and to attract large investments in mobile phone manufacturing and specialized electronic equipment. This incentive amount will be linked to production. He said that the government would lay emphasis on manufacturing of mobile and related devices in India. He said that the Center will invest Rs 20 lakh crore in this area, which will provide employment to 25 lakh people in the next five years.

The Cabinet has also approved the Bulk Drug Park Incentive Scheme to provide financial assistance to the common manufacturing facilities in the three wholesale drug parks. For this, an allocation of three thousand crores has been made in the next five years. Production promotion incentives were also approved to promote domestic manufacturing of important starting ingredients, medicinal ingredients and active pharmaceutical ingredients in the country.

For this scheme, in the next eight years, an allocation of six thousand nine hundred and forty crores will be made. The Cabinet also approved to bring Ayush Health and Wellness Centers under the purview of Ayushman India in the National AYUSH Mission. It aims to reduce the burden on the second and third tier health care centers.

Matters related to taxation, revenue or other financial offenses will also be settled under this treaty. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved expenditure on compensating losses related to the minimum support price for cotton during 2014-15 to 2018-19.
